Grease trap cleaning in Houston, TX
What Houston Health Department requires, and the companies it lists. Every rule below links to the official source.
The rules in Houston
- Who may clean a trap. Only a waste transporter permitted by the Houston Health Department may clean your interceptor (trap). Permitted trucks carry decals on both doors and the back of the tank showing the permit number, truck number and permit year.[1]
- Manifests. A waste manifest must be completed every time the trap is cleaned. You sign it to confirm the entire contents were removed, and keep the white and yellow copies on site for at least 5 years.[1]
- Used fryer oil. Used frying grease must be picked up by a private disposal company.[1]
Officially listed companies
These companies appear as TRANSPORTER on the Houston Health Department's October 2026 Service Company List (dated 9/30/26). Most permits on that list run to 1/31/2027. The full list has 86 transporters; many haul septic or portable toilet waste. Below we show only those whose company name refers to grease, plus two whose own websites advertise grease trap pumping. Being on the list is a permit, not a recommendation from the city or from us. Source[2].
